How to get the best wedding photos

Hiya, lovebirds! So, you’re a little nervous but want to get amazing wedding photos? Well, let me share a few tips on how to get the most out of your day, whilst allowing me to capture some of your best memories. From big cheesy grins to smoochy candid moments, I'm here to help!

  1. It's Your Day, Your Way: Repeat after me: "This day is all about us." Seriously, folks, your wedding day is the one day where it's perfectly acceptable (and encouraged!) to be a little selfish. So, forget about Aunt Margaret's opinions on your centrepieces or your best friend's insistence on playing DJ. Today, it's all about what makes you and your partner happy, so don't be afraid to do things your way, even if it's a little unconventional. This mindset shift translates beautifully to camera! a carefree, happy go lucky couple just soaking up the day.

  2. Embrace The Candid Moments: Sure, the posed shots are great and all, but some of the most memorable photos happen when you least expect them. So, PLEASE! don't be afraid to let loose, have fun, and let your love shine through in those candid moments. Whether you're stealing a kiss or busting a move on the dance floor, those spontaneous snaps will be ones you'll treasure forever.

  3. Consider The Lighting: Ah, lighting—the secret to dreamy wedding photos. When scheduling your wedding photos, take into account the time of day and how it will affect the lighting conditions. For example, if you're dreaming of dreamy, soft-lit portraits, aim for a golden hour shoot just before sunset. On the flip side, if you're planning an indoor ceremony or reception, be sure to schedule some time for photos during daylight hours to take advantage of natural light (the best beauty light!).

  4. Trust Your Photographer: Last but not least, trust me, your photographer ;) We folk are in this profession for a reason, so let me work my magic and capture moments for you. Be open to suggestions and just enjoy the ride. After all, this day is all about celebrating your love, and I’m there to help you do just that.

So, with a little mindset shift and a sprinkle of spontaneity, I’m positive we’ll make thoughtfully candid wedding photos, that’ll be treasured!
